Institutional Account Manager – China Team
 
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  
The primary coverage will be institutional clients with a focus on insurance, corporations and select official institutional clients to help drive business development efforts, client servicing and cross selling. There is scope to provide coverage to other institutional clients and involve wealth management business in China as the role evolves. The position is based in [Shanghai or Hongkong].
 
The account manager will report to the head of China and work within the China team with a collaboration environment.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
As the Lead Account Manager for the assigned client base:
 
Oversee the relationship/initiatives of existing clients and mandates under coverage. 
Take ownership of the client relationships from front to back end, ensuring that all investment, marketing, operational, compliance and legal requirements are met and the business is conducted in line with best practice of Company.
Develop relationships across the strata of influential asset allocators and investment teams in key institutions which can help Company position for building trustable relationship, and also position for business opportunities
Expect to participate in formal portfolio client reviews to articulate Company macro views and identify the most suitable investment solutions catering to clients’ need; the Account Manager is expected to develop deep technical and macro expertise to act as the surrogate portfolio manager and represent the firm according to Company standards.
 
Business Development/Growth
As a key member of the China team, develop and execute a holistic business plan to deepen and broaden the firm's footprint of assigned client segments
Position the full range of Company's products and services to the assigned investor base with the assistance of senior investment professionals where appropriate. 
As the supporting Account Manager for the assigned client base: - Collaborate with the Lead Account Manager and client management team to provide relationship management coverage, including stepping in as the Account Manager as appropriate.
Build and maintain a detailed knowledge of key business and strategic issues facing target channels, with the objective of addressing these issues 

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Relevant experience:
 
Proven record in growing and managing institutional client relationships, experience in Chinese insurance market is preferred
Strong willingness to understand the detailed technical of fixed income and private credit market to be able to develop ideal investment solutions for client
Outstanding sales closing, relationship management and negotiation skills.  Experienced business developer and servicer focused on meeting with clients very regularly and representing the firm at client meetings and key events
Self-driven, open-minded, strive for excellence, outcome oriented with entrepreneurship spirit
Collegiate team player, experienced and comfortable working in an international operating environment and be able to coordinate across different teams and offices.
Deep technical knowledge and understanding of investment concepts, economics and capital markets, with at least 6-8 years of relevant industry experience. Experience in fixed income, alternatives, private credit are preferred
 
Education/Certifications:
 
Bachelor’s degree
Progress towards regulatory certificate in relevant jurisdiction
CFA, or Masters Degree, MBA or progress towards attaining the designation
