Job Description
Our client is a global well-known reinsurance company with years of experience in Chinese market.
YOUR ROLE
Collaborate with Corporate Underwriting, Geo Risks to develop, evaluate, and enhance NatCat models.
Provide expert support to Underwriting departments on geo-related topics, analyse market trends and NatCat exposures within the Greater China region, and deliver high-quality client services.
Expand and maintain a strong scientific network within the modelling community.
Assess NatCat risks and support pricing reinsurance treaties, ensuring thorough analysis and accuracy.
Ensure the quality and compliance of technical risk reviews and acceptances, including complex and non-traditional reinsurance products, while adhering to underwriting guidelines, internal rules, and client strategies.
Inspect claims from major disasters or losses and collect and analyse statistical data from these events.
Lead and participate in client seminars and meetings related to natural hazards.
Deliver presentations at regional market events and technical/scientific conferences.
Prepare or contribute to technical publications, including Munich Re brochures, articles in insurance journals, and client-specific materials.
Job Requirements
YOUR PROFILE
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a geo-related scientific discipline.
Approximately 8-10 years of experience with a deep understanding of NatCat modelling in the insurance and/or reinsurance sector.
Proficiency in using and developing probabilistic NatCat models, with demonstrated project experience.
Highly familiar with relevant underwriting and rating tools/risk modelling, well-developed analytical skills and good mathematical abilities
Strong analytical and mathematical abilities, with familiarity in relevant underwriting and risk rating and modelling tools.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, strong negotiation competence, and a collaborative approach with a willingness to share knowledge.
Excellent command of English; fluency in Mandarin is highly preferred.
