Job Description

Our client is an international financial service group. They are setting up a local team for the securities business in China.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Strategic Leadership 

  • Develop and execute the long - term strategic plan for the ABS business unit, aligning it with the overall corporate goals. This includes setting business objectives, identifying growth opportunities, and formulating strategies to enhance market share and profitability. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging market developments. Anticipate market shifts and proactively adjust the business strategy to maintain a competitive edge. 

Business Development and Origination 

  • Spearhead efforts to identify and establish relationships with potential ABS originators, such as large financial institutions, consumer finance companies, auto loan companies, and corporate entities. Drive business development initiatives to expand the pipeline of securitization transactions. 
  • Oversee the negotiation of key deal terms with originators, ensuring favorable terms for the organization. Foster strategic partnerships that can lead to sustainable growth in the ABS business. 

Transaction Structuring and Execution 

  • Provide high - level guidance on the structuring of complex ABS transactions. Ensure that the structures are innovative, meet the needs of both originators and investors, and are compliant with regulatory requirements. 
  • Coordinate with cross - functional teams, including legal, finance, risk management, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of ABS deals. Oversee the due diligence process, documentation, and closing of transactions. 

Investor Relations 

  • Build and maintain relationships with major institutional investors in the ABS market, such as commercial banks(prop and AM), pension funds, and insurance companies. Understand their investment preferences and requirements, and work to meet or exceed their expectations. 
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, investor meetings, and other relevant events. Promote the organization's ABS offerings and enhance its brand image in the market. 

Team Management 

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high - performing team of ABS professionals. Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations. 
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment within the team. Encourage knowledge sharing and professional development to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members. 

Risk Management 

  • Establish and enforce risk management policies and procedures for the ABS business. Monitor and manage risks associated with ABS transactions, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk. 
  • Work closely with the risk management department to ensure that all ABS activities are in line with the organization's overall risk appetite.

Job Requirements

Educational Background 

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree, such as a master's in business administration (MBA) or a master's in finance (MFin), is highly preferred. 

Work Experience 

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, with at least 7 years of direct experience in the ABS market. Proven experience in a leadership role within the ABS space is essential. 

Skills 

  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. 
  • In - depth knowledge of the ABS market, including securitization structures, regulatory requirements, and investor behavior. 
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, with the ability to evaluate complex financial transactions. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both with internal teams and external stakeholders. 
  • Strategic thinking and problem - solving abilities, with the capacity to make sound decisions in a fast - paced and dynamic market environment.
