Job Description
Our Client is a leading biopharma
-Lead and manage the small molecule IP team in China
-As a member of the IP leadership team, work with the head of IP to establish robust patent strategies and best practices to protect the company’s innovations
-Identify patentable inventions, draft patent applications, work together with outside counsel on patent filing, prosecution and patent portfolio matters and collaborate with R&D on inventions and freedom to operate.
-Conduct patent and prior art search, competitive landscape analysis, patentability, and freedom to operate analysis.
-Support business development and research collaborations, including due diligence assessments, on contract drafting and negotiation, and alliance management of existing collaborations.
-Provide litigation support, including validity and non-infringement analysis.
Job Requirements
-Admitted to the patent bar in China, the US or Europe
-Advanced degree (M.S. or PhD) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or other chemical sciences required.
-Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical patent practice, preferably at least five (5) years in-house experience.
-Deep understanding of global pharmaceutical patent laws, regulatory data protection laws, regulations and best practices, in the U.S., China, and Europe.
-Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and / or strong understanding of pharmaceutical R&D and commercialization.
-Prior experience managing R&D projects strongly preferred.
-Team-oriented and able to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence others without direct line reporting authority.
